At John G. Sears & Sons, we're proud to offer a fertilizer program that stands among the finest in the industry. We'll use a lime application to balance the soil's pH level, and we'll provide control for crabgrass, grubs, and weeds. Our workers are well-trained, licensed and insured to implement comprehensive fertilization throughout the landscape of a home or commercial property. Deep Root Fertilization

Our deep root fertilization consists of a balanced ornamental plant fertilizer that provides controlled-release nitrogen that lasts for up to a year. We treat each plant individually with soil injection lance, and we redo this process each year. Your trees and shrubs will benefit from this approach because most deciduous plants and evergreens need nitrogen right after breaking dormancy. When the nitrogen is there during this important period, trees and shrubs can grow vigorously and fully throughout the entire season.

Tree and Shrub Fertilization

We fertilize shade trees and ornamental shrubs during an ideal time after leaf growth ends and before new growth begins in the spring. Topical leaf growth ends at 55 degrees Fahrenheit, but roots continue to stay active until approximately 45 degrees Fahrenheit. You can count on our knowledgeable professionals to fertilize your trees during the right time to get beneficial results.

We utilize Ureaform as an ideal source of nitrogen for trees and shrubs. Ureaform is made when urea reacts with formaldehyde under certain conditions. A series of chemical reactions takes place to produce water-soluble nitrogen content that is well suited for feeding plants. Higher levels of water-soluble nitrogen content allow the release of nitrogen throughout a longer period of time.
